BLOCK DOWN STORIES | Robert Enga, CEO & Founder of AVXChange

We hope you are keeping yourself safe and sane. We're excited to introduce our next featured key leader from Bothell, Washington, and is living in Davao, Philippines.

Robert is not only highly knowledgeable but is also able to bring professional attributes and ease of working with multiple personality types.

Introduction about yourself and your company?

My name is Robert Enga, I am the founder and CEO of a Blockchain based Media distribution platform called AVXChange (AVX), short for Audio Video eXchange.

How are you and your business in this time of crisis?

We really wish we had our beta up and running because we believe we would be a perfect solution for those staying home during the crisis to acquire and enjoy the digital content they may wish to enjoy during these trying times.

As is, our product is very complex and we are still in the developmental stage.  In the post ICO hangover, we've chosen to differentiate ourselves by building before we offer tokens for sale.  We are a completely self-funded project and have yet to sell a single token. As a result, our funds are tight right now and we are actively looking for partners to help us finish up our beta.  Partners we are looking for would be bringing either capital (to fund our existing dev team) or bringing a development team that can finish the work we've started.

What do you think will happen after all quarantine period will be lifted?

We are hoping that people are able to resume their normal lives with as little loss of life as possible. We suspect this idea of new normal will take on real meaning, and this will likely mean more remote working among other things.  As it pertains to AVXChange, we hope that this will also mean more people cutting their cords from traditional cable and broadcast entertainment models and looking for alternative ways to get the specific entertainment they are looking for.

What are the things you’re doing this lock-down period?

Personally, I'm catching up on a lot of movies, TV shows, and music that I haven't had time to enjoy. I'm also reaching out and trying to find partners for AVX, as well as looking to work for other projects so I may earn money to meet the needs I have of supporting my family.  These certainly are challenging times, and I feel the squeeze of the economy and it's actually quite stressful and frightening.  Through it all, I am just trying to stay goal-oriented and continue to work towards those goals.  When it all gets to be a bit overwhelming, (Unfortunately somewhat often) that's when I take a break and enjoy my digital entertainment.

What are some lessons you’ve learned during this pandemic?

My takeaways from this, are that we must be ready for these types of pandemics and unexpected events.  In this hardship, I'm seeing tremendous pain and suffering, but I'm also seeing opportunities.  I'm seeing opportunities for digital currencies, digital media, home delivery, and distance education.  As a US certificated K-8 teacher with a focus on computer technology, I'm seeing an amazing opportunity to help school districts, and schools ramp up for what may be the new model of education, digital distance learning.

What are the things you’re grateful for?

I'm grateful for the friends and family I have that have been there for support either through resources, or just to converse with. Being on a fairly strict lock-down can be quite taxing, mentally, and financially.

Can you give some advice to other people and businesses out there during this pandemic?

My only advice would be to look at how you may be able to seize on the opportunities presented by this challenge. The way we are living has changed dramatically and as such, the way we do business must change as well.  This presents a ton of opportunity for those who can provide goods and services in the safest and most convenient way.

Do you agree that Blockchain can help sustain the economy?

I am a huge fan of Blockchain and I believe it can dramatically change the world, not just the economy. I believe we have the possibility of having access to information that was previously held in the hands of 'trusted' parties, that will now be open for all to view. This doesn't just include financial and business transactions but could include voting and the way we run our democracies. I dream of a political world free of financial bribes, where every voice is heard with equal strength and where the will of the people will prevail over the will of the few moneyed interests.
