GCash, the top finance app in the Philippines and the largest cashless platform is joining forces with Axie Infinity, the leading Web3 game, to enhance the gaming community's blockchain experience. This collaboration aims to create a seamless on-ramp and off-ramp portal within the GCrypto feature of the GCash app.
Thanks to this partnership, Filipino gamers in the Web3 community can securely transfer their cryptocurrency from Axie Infinity to GCrypto. The app allows them to effortlessly convert in-game currencies into real money, specifically Philippine pesos, all in one place. GCrypto can also serve as a conversion hub for other games within Sky Mavis' Ronin ecosystem, including Pixels.
In addition to providing these services, the initiative emphasizes compliance with industry governance standards and introduces new measures to enhance user safety and security.
Luis Buenaventura, Head of GCrypto at GCash, expressed excitement about the collaboration, stating, "This partnership is a significant step forward in our mission to make blockchain technology more accessible and remove barriers for users. Working with Axie Infinity and the Ronin ecosystem aligns with our commitment to prioritize user safety while expanding the possibilities of crypto gaming."
Filipinos make up a substantial portion of Axie's user base, accounting for up to 50% of total users. Similarly, Pixels has seen a rise in its Filipino user base, making the Philippines the largest geography for the game, boasting over 170,000 daily active users.
Ronin also hosts Katana DEX, a decentralized exchange for trading in-game tokens directly on the blockchain, currently utilized by Axie, Pixels, and other network games. Sky Mavis recently relaunched Axie Infinity Classic and introduced a merchandise store to introduce more people to Axie Infinity and welcome a new generation to Web3.
